WSA will be Fundraising throughout Alberta. Watch for our canvessors coming to your community in the near future. Canvessors will be selling Cookies, Chocolate & Brownie packs in an effort to raise additional funds for the association and it's programs. The Cookies, Chocolate or Brownie packs will cost $20. And you will receive a Tax Receipt for your purchase. Please help support the Wheelchair Community in Alberta by purchasing one of our Cookie, Chocolate or Brownie Packs.

How To Identify Our Sanctioned Canvassers:

Canvassers will all have proper WSA identification. Each one should be wearing a WSA inscribed jacket, have an authentic WSA Name Badge along with licensing and information on our association. Canvassers will always offer the products that we are selling. We accept cash or cheque for the purchase. Canvessers will never asked for a straight cash donation without providing the product that we are selling. Canvassers will also issue an official Tax Receipt for the purchase. Should you encounter a canvasser who does not fit this profile or who is asking for cash donations without providing the product we are selling please contact our Fundraising Hotline listed below.

Our Hotline is manned by our Fundraising Management Team James Heffernan and/or Sandy Berg.

World Wheelchair Express Foundation

WWEF completed two unique clinics for our spring session in Asia. In Manila, experienced athletes, some living at a  sport facility and training full time were the main focus.  These athletes will represent the Philippines at the Asean Para Games in Singapore later this year. Athletes and coaches put immense effort into the two day camp;  Richard Colman, Australian Paralympian, attended as assisting coach, a huge inspiration to the athletes. It is our resolve to maintain a high level of support to facilitative the lofty goals of these athletes and we expect some to become Paralympians.

Bali was very different. Racing chairs were sent to Bali Sport Foundation in advance. We were pleased to find 16 excited and curious individuals who had never seen a racing chair before. As they have no useable track, we were able to locate a narrow asphalt road surrounding a soccer field for our training purposes. Despite the limited equipment and the impossibility to individually adapt equipment effectively to everyone, the spirit was high. BSF has a helpful and energetic crew, translating, carrying, strapping and smiling.  All were able to experience a racing chair and we feel certain some will carry on and become competitive athletes.  We look forward to seeing them again as we host both a Wheelchair Rugby and Racing camp this fall.
